# e-lucid

> e-lucid is an e-commerce and process automation platform that lets research organisations license their intellectual property online, without manual contract admin.

E-lucid gives universities, government laboratories, and NHS trusts a white-label online store where buyers can browse available IP, select a licence, pay, and walk away with a signed agreement — automatically. No emails. No back-and-forth. The platform handles everything from qualifying questions at checkout to multi-party approvals, automated delivery, and impact tracking.

It was built in 2010 for UCL Business (the commercialisation arm of University College London) and now powers licensing operations for 30+ institutions across the UK, US, France, and Australia. In 2025, e-lucid stores processed over 13,000 licences and generated more than £1M in combined licensing revenue.
